Use what God gave you.
“EACH ACCORDING TO HIS OWN ABILITY” MATTHEW 25:15 NIV
In His famous parable of the talents, Jesus said three people
were given something to invest, “each according to his ability.”
Note: God will give you only what you have the ability to
handle. If you didn’t get the same talents as your neighbor,
don’t worry - just use what He gave you. The first worker
doubled his. Wouldn’t you like to have him advising you? The
second did the same. But the third caved in to fear and buried
his. Now when you fail to invest what God give you, He loses His
return and you lose the rewards you would have enjoyed.
Fear is your number one enemy; it freezes your faith and
cripples your creativity. Your money, time, talent, love, etc.
are seeds that must be sown; so sow them into something you
believe in, something that will outlive you. Everything God
gives you is meant to be multiplied. By failing to do so, you
eventually forfeit it. Christ’s parable ends with these sobering
words: “Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has
the ten talents” (Matthew 25:28 NIV).
Ever notice how those who pour generously into the lives of
others are constantly refilled, while those who worry about
parting with what they have, end up losing it or not enjoying
it? “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and
whoever sows generously will also reap generously” (2
Corinthians 9:6 NIV). Ask any farmer; your harvest only begins
when you take your seed out of the barn and put it into the
ground. That way God has something to work with. So the word for
you today is – use what God gave you!
